A Look Back: Club History
The IFK Strängnäs club has a long and interesting history. It has been a part of the Strängnäs community for over 120 years.
Bandy Team's Early Days
One of the club's notable achievements was with its men's bandy team. Bandy is a winter sport played on ice, similar to ice hockey but with a ball instead of a puck.
In the 1930–31 season, which was the very first year for a bandy league system in Sweden, IFK Strängnäs joined the top division. They played in a group called "Division 1 Södra." They competed against several other teams from different cities. At the end of that season, IFK Strängnäs finished in 6th place. This was a great start for the team in the new league system!
