Iain Henderson's Early Life

Iain Henderson was born in Craigavon, County Armagh. He went to Belfast Royal Academy for his education. He played on the school's main rugby team. In 2010, his team reached the final of the Ulster Schools' Cup.

In July 2010, Iain was picked for a special rugby game. This game opened the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. He was planning to study at a university in Edinburgh. However, he changed his mind when he got a spot at the Ulster Rugby Academy. He then went to Queen's University Belfast instead.

Iain played his first game for the senior Ulster team in April 2012. He signed his first professional contract in October 2012. He also played for Ireland's Under-19 and Under-20 teams. This included playing in the 2012 U20 World Championships. He made his first appearance for the senior Ireland team in November 2012. This was in a game against South Africa in Dublin.

Playing for Ireland and the Lions

With the Ireland team, Iain has won the Six Nations Championship multiple times. These wins were in 2014, 2015, 2018, 2023, and 2024. He also helped Ireland win the Grand Slam in 2018 and 2023. The team won the Triple Crown in 2018, 2022, and 2023.
