Ichiei Muroi (室井 市衛, Muroi Ichiei, born June 22, 1974) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender for several teams in Japan's J.League. He was known for his strong defense and helped his teams win important championships.

Ichiei Muroi: A Football Journey

Ichiei Muroi was born in Saitama, Japan, on June 22, 1974. He grew up loving football and played throughout his school years. After finishing high school, he began his professional career.

Early Career and Success

In 1993, Ichiei Muroi joined Kashima Antlers, a well-known football club. Even though he wasn't always a starting player, he was a very important substitute. He often came into games as a strong center back. During his time with Kashima Antlers, the team achieved great success.

They won the J1 League championship twice, in 1996 and 1998. They also lifted the J.League Cup in 1997 and the Emperor's Cup in the same year. Muroi played a part in these big wins, showing his skill and dedication.

Moving to New Teams

In 2000, Muroi moved to Urawa Reds, a team from his hometown. At that time, Urawa Reds was in the J2 League. Muroi played many matches and helped the team get promoted back to the top division, the J1 League.

In 2001, he went on loan to Cerezo Osaka. However, the team had a tough season and was relegated to J2 League. Muroi returned to Urawa Reds in 2002. He continued to play many games for them. In 2003, Urawa Reds won the 2003 J.League Cup, adding another trophy to Muroi's career.

After his time with Urawa Reds, Muroi moved to Vissel Kobe in 2005. He didn't play as many matches there. In 2006, he joined Yokohama FC. He played for two seasons before deciding to retire from professional football at the end of the 2007 season.
