Ichinobe-no Oshiwa facts for kids
Ichinobe-no Oshiwa (磐坂市邊押磐, mid-5th century) was an important figure in ancient Japan. He was the oldest son of Emperor Richū, who was a powerful ruler. Ichinobe-no Oshiwa also became the father of two future emperors: Emperor Kenzō and Emperor Ninken.
During this time in Japan, exact dates for events and reigns are not always clear. However, it is believed that Emperor Ankō ruled from 456 to 479. Ichinobe-no Oshiwa passed away during Emperor Ankō's reign.
The Story of Ichinobe-no Oshiwa
According to an ancient Japanese history book called the Nihon Shoki, Ichinobe-no Oshiwa met a tragic end. The book says he was killed by Emperor Yūryaku during a hunting trip.
His Sons and the Throne
After Ichinobe-no Oshiwa's death, his two sons were adopted by Emperor Seinei. These sons were known as Prince Woke and Prince Oke. They later both became emperors of Japan, continuing their family's royal line.
