A Look Back: The Church's Story

How the Church Was Built

This church was built a long time ago, in 1780. A person named Pedro de Alonso Díaz asked for it to be built. It was designed in the Baroque style, which is a fancy and detailed way of building. The church has one main floor and a round roof called a dome. On top of the dome, there is a Latin cross. It also has a bell tower right next to it.

Special Days and Celebrations

People who visit the church have two very important days they celebrate. On January 17, they honor a saint called Saint Anton. Then, on May 3, they celebrate the Holy Cross. These celebrations are big events in the calendar for people in Asturias.
