Ignacio Pichardo Pagaza (born 13 November 1935 – died 14 April 2020) was an important Mexican politician. He is best known for serving as the Governor of the State of Mexico. He also held several other high-ranking positions in the Mexican government.

Ignacio Pichardo Pagaza had a long and active career in Mexican politics. He was a key member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), which is one of Mexico's major political parties. He even served as the president of this party for a time.
Working with Presidents
Mr. Pichardo Pagaza worked closely with two different Mexican presidents. He was part of the cabinet (a group of top advisors) for President Miguel de la Madrid. In this role, he served as the general comptroller. This job meant he helped make sure that government money was spent correctly and honestly.
Later, he joined the cabinet of President Ernesto Zedillo. During this time, he was the Secretary of Energy. This important role involved managing Mexico's energy resources, like oil and electricity.
