Early Career and First Steps

Igor Bubnjić began his football journey playing for youth teams. He started at Daruvar. Later, in 2007, he joined the youth team of Slaven Belupo.

Loan to Koprivnica

In the 2011–12 season, Igor was loaned to Koprivnica. This was a team in the third division of Croatian football. He played in 13 games for them and scored two goals.

Return to Slaven Belupo

After his loan, he came back to Slaven Belupo. He made his first appearance for their main team on 16 March 2012. He came on as a substitute in a game where his team won 2–0 against Osijek.

Igor scored his first goal in Croatia's top league, called Prva HNL, on 6 May 2012. It was in a 1–1 draw against Rijeka.

Moving to Udinese

In September 2012, Igor signed a five-year contract with Udinese. This is a well-known club in Italy. However, he stayed at Slaven Belupo until the end of that season before moving to Italy.

Later Career and Retirement

On 1 October 2018, Igor moved to Malta. He signed with a club called Hibernians. He played two games for them.

In the summer of 2019, he left Hibernians. On 7 October 2019, Igor Bubnjić announced that he was retiring from football. He was only 27 years old. He decided to retire because he had been seriously injured for three years.

Playing for Croatia

Igor Bubnjić also played for his country, Croatia. He made his first appearance for the national team in June 2013. This was in a friendly game against Portugal. He came on as a substitute in that match.

He played a total of two games for the Croatian national team and did not score any goals. His second and last international game was another friendly match in September 2013. This game was played away against South Korea.
