Immenstadt's Past
Immenstadt has a long and interesting history. The town was first mentioned in official papers way back in 1275. This shows how old it is!
Becoming a Town
In 1360, Emperor Charles IV gave Immenstadt special "town privileges." This meant it could have its own markets, laws, and walls, making it an important place. It was one of the first towns in this part of Germany to get these rights.
Counts and Conflicts
For many years, until 1804, Immenstadt was the main home for the counts of Königsegg-Rothenfels. These counts were like local rulers. The town also played a role in big wars. During the First World War, it was a "garrison town," meaning soldiers were stationed there. In the Second World War, Immenstadt was bombed one time.
Recent Events
More recently, in 1999, parts of Immenstadt experienced serious floods. This natural event caused some damage to the community.
