Indian Orchard is a lively village located in the city of Springfield, Massachusetts. You can find it in the northeast part of Springfield, right next to the Chicopee River. Indian Orchard is actually the fifth largest neighborhood in Springfield.

A Look at Indian Orchard's Past

Indian Orchard started in the 1840s as a small town built around its factories, called "mills." Even though it became part of Springfield later, it has kept its unique feel. Many of the first people who worked in the mills were immigrants from French Canada.
