What is IndigenousX?
IndigenousX started as a special Twitter account. It showed many different stories and views from Indigenous Australian people. Each week, a new person would take over the account. This helped share many voices.
Kath Viner from Guardian Australia saw its potential. She worked with IndigenousX to share these stories even more widely. Many people see IndigenousX as a top online place. It shares real voices from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Sharing Important Stories
IndigenousX has become very important in public discussions. It shows how news media can change and grow. The person who hosts the Twitter account each week also writes an article. This article is published in the IndigenousX section of Guardian Australia.
Many well-known people have hosted the IndigenousX Twitter account. These include Mick Gooda, a social justice commissioner. Others are activist Amy McQuire and academic Marcia Langton.
