Season 1: The Start of the Adventure
The show began on April 23, 2005, under the name Reckless Challenge. It aired on Saturday nights. This first season was all about people trying out really wild physical challenges. Imagine playing tug-of-war with a bull or racing against a subway train! Yoo Jae-suk, Jung Hyung-don, and Noh Hong-chul were some of the first stars. Famous guests like actor Cha Seung-won and tennis player Maria Sharapova also joined the fun.
Season 2: New Faces and New Games
Season 2 started on October 29, 2005. It had two parts: Excessive Challenge, which was similar to Season 1, and Infinite Challenge – Master of Quiz, which was a quiz show. More stars joined the team, including Park Myung-soo, Jeong Jun-ha, and Haha. Singer Lee Hyori was a special guest during this season.
Season 3: The "Real-Variety" Era
The third season, simply called Infinite Challenge, began on May 6, 2006. This season was a big step for Korean TV! It became known as the first "Real-Variety" show. This meant it mixed Reality TV with Variety elements, focusing on real-life challenges and funny situations without much acting. The show often filmed outdoors and became a top-rated program on Saturday evenings.
The show had a few breaks over the years. For example, in 2012 and 2017, there were times when new episodes weren't made, and older episodes were shown instead. These breaks helped the production team make sure they had enough time to create amazing new content. The show finally ended in March 2018, after its main producer, Kim Tae-ho, and the cast members decided to move on. After the final episode, there were three special recap episodes called "13 Years of Saturdays" to celebrate all the show's achievements.
