About Inga Witscher
Inga Witscher was born in Arlington, Washington, in 1982. She grew up on her family's organic dairy farm on the United States West Coast. Her family had been organic dairy farmers for four generations. She even made cheese on the East Coast.
Inga finished high school at Arlington High School in Arlington, Washington, in 2000.
In 2006, Inga moved to Wisconsin. She started her own farm business there. She took over her father Rick Witscher's organic dairy farm, which was about 40 acres. It was located near Osseo, Wisconsin.
In 2011, Inga married Joe Maurer. After they bought her father's farm, they thought of an idea for a TV show. This show later became Around the Farm Table.
Her TV Show
In 2012, Inga Witscher became the host of Around the Farm Table on PBS. She has also worked with public TV stations and travel companies. She hosts group tours across the United States.
Changes on the Farm
In 2016, Inga decided to step back from the main dairy business. She sold most of the cows from her farm, "St. Isidore's Mead." This farm is in Hale, Wisconsin, near Osseo in Trempealeau County.
After leaving the commercial dairy business, Inga (now known as Inga Orth) started new projects for her Osseo farm. For example, she began garlic farming. She and her father Rick, who helps produce her TV show, started looking into modern ways of farming that are good for the environment.
On November 14, 2018, a big fire happened at Inga's Osseo farm. The barn and a new creamery were destroyed. Sadly, three calves died. However, the other cows and the farmhouse were saved.
