Íngrid Fliter (born September 23, 1973) is a talented pianist from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She started learning piano when she was very young. Ingrid first performed for an audience at age 11. By age 16, she played with an orchestra at the famous Teatro Colón in her home city.

Music Career
Becoming a Professional Musician
In 1992, a famous pianist named Martha Argerich suggested that Ingrid move to Europe. There, she continued her piano studies with several great teachers. She learned from Vitalj Margulis in Freiburg, Germany. Later, she studied with Carlo Bruno in Rome, Italy, and with Franco Scala and Boris Petrushansky in Imola, Italy.
Ingrid also attended special classes called masterclasses. In these classes, she learned from other famous pianists like Leon Fleisher and Louis Lortie. She also considers Zoltán Kocsis to be one of her important mentors.
Winning Awards and Performing
Ingrid Fliter won many music competitions in Argentina and Europe. She won first prize at the Cantu International Competition. In 2000, she earned the silver medal at the XIV International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. This is a very important competition for pianists.
In 2006, Ingrid became the fifth person to win the Gilmore Artist Award. She was also the first woman to receive this special award. From 2007 to 2009, she was a New Generation Artist for BBC Radio 3. This program helps young, talented musicians.
Ingrid first performed in the United States in 2002. She toured with the Warsaw Philharmonic orchestra. Her first time playing with a U.S. orchestra was in 2006 with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
Personal Life
Ingrid Fliter lives in Lake Como, Italy. She lives there with her husband, Anton Dressler, who is a clarinet player, and their daughter.
