Ingrid Hoffmann (born April 10, 1965) is a famous TV personality and restaurant owner. She is from Colombia and also an American citizen. Ingrid hosts "Simply Delicioso" on Food Network. She also has a Spanish cooking show called "Delicioso" on Galavisión. In 2008, she released her cookbook, Simply Delicioso: A Collection of Everyday Recipes with a Latin Twist. It was also published in Spanish.

Early Life and Cooking
Ingrid Hoffmann was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. She grew up in Cali, Colombia, and also in Curaçao. Her father, Billy Hoffmann, was a pilot. Her mother, Yolanda Ibarnegaray, was a chef trained at Le Cordon Bleu. She worked in restaurants and catering. Ingrid started cooking with her mother when she was very young.
Ingrid's Career Journey
Ingrid Hoffmann began her career in modeling and acting. By the time she was 20, she had appeared in 16 telenovelas, which are like TV soap operas.
Moving to Miami
In 1985, Ingrid moved to Miami, Florida. There, she opened a fancy fashion store called La Capricieuse in Coconut Grove.
Opening a Restaurant
Later, Ingrid opened a restaurant in Miami with her mother and two business partners. The restaurant was named Rocca. It was the first restaurant in Miami to let people cook their own food on hot lava rocks at their tables. Rocca opened in January 1993 and quickly became a popular spot for celebrities.
From Local TV to Food Network
In 2002, Ingrid hosted a cooking part on a local Miami TV show. After that, she was offered a regular cooking segment on a Spanish morning show called Despierta America.
Her own cooking show, Delicioso, started in 2005 on DirecTV. Now, Delicioso is shown on Univision's cable channel, Galavision. In March 2006, Ingrid appeared on the TV show Martha. The very next day, the Food Network contacted her. Her show, Simply Delicioso, first aired on the Food Network in July 2007.
Other Projects
Ingrid Hoffmann writes a cooking column every month for People en Español magazine. She also has her own line of cookware called "Simply Delicioso with Ingrid Hoffmann" by T-Fal. She also has kitchen tools and accessories by Furi, which are sold on Home Shopping Network.
In November 2009, Ingrid took part in the Hispanic "Got Milk?" campaign. This was part of Hispanic Heritage Month. She is also a board member of the Food and Education Fund in New York City. Ingrid supports other groups too, like Miami's Amigos For Kids, Believe for Colombia Foundations, and the Humane Society.
