The International Centre for Birds of Prey (ICBP) is a special place in the United Kingdom. It used to be called the National Birds of Prey Centre. This centre is home to a huge collection of over 60 different kinds of birds of prey. These include many types of owls, eagles, and hawks. The ICBP works hard to protect these incredible birds. They do this through teaching people, breeding birds in captivity, doing research, and helping injured birds get better. You can find the centre in Boulsdon, which is near Newent in Gloucestershire. The person in charge, or Director, is Jemima Parry-Jones.

The Centre's Story

The ICBP was first started by Phillip Glasier. It was originally known as the Falconry Centre. It was a unique zoo that only focused on birds of prey. This included falcons, hawks, eagles, and owls. Mr. Glasier's main goal was to teach people all about these birds. He wanted everyone to understand how important they are to our world. He also aimed to teach about falconry, which is the art of hunting with trained birds of prey. The centre first opened its doors to visitors on May 25, 1967. As of 2023, the centre is no longer open to the public.
