Inuwa Abdulkadir (born January 12, 1966 – died July 6, 2020) was a Nigerian lawyer and politician. He held important positions in the government and in major political parties. He served as the Minister of Youth Development for Nigeria from 2012 to 2013. He also held a high-ranking role in the All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
Before becoming a minister, Inuwa Abdulkadir was the Secretary of the Sokoto Sultanate Council. He also became the Secretary of the Arewa Consultative Forum, which is a group for leaders in Northern Nigeria. In 1996, he was given the traditional title of Magatakarda, meaning Chief Scribe, of the Sokoto Caliphate.

Early Life and Education
Inuwa Abdulkadir was born in Sokoto, Nigeria, on January 12, 1966. He attended Ahmadu Bello Academy from 1977 to 1982. After that, he went to Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto. He studied law there from 1982 to 1990 and earned his law degree.
In 1990, he attended the Nigerian Law School. He officially became a lawyer in Nigeria in 1991. Later, in 1995, he continued his studies at the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies in Lagos.
Career and Public Service
After becoming a lawyer, Inuwa Abdulkadir started working for the government. He became a state counsel in the Sokoto State Ministry of Justice. This meant he was a lawyer working for the state government.
He also took on other important roles. He served as the Attorney General and Minister of Justice for Sokoto State. He was part of different government panels and committees in Sokoto State. For example, he was on the Sokoto State Penal Law Review Panel.
Political Journey
Inuwa Abdulkadir was very active in Nigerian politics. In 2003, he ran for Vice President of Nigeria alongside Orji Uzor Kalu. They were part of the Progressive Peoples Alliance party.
He later joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which was the ruling party at the time. In 2012, President Goodluck Jonathan appointed him as the Federal Minister of Youth Development. This role meant he was in charge of programs and policies for young people in Nigeria.
In 2013, he left his position as Minister. This happened because of disagreements between him and President Goodluck Jonathan. Inuwa Abdulkadir then decided to support President Muhammadu Buhari.
Joining the APC
In November 2013, Inuwa Abdulkadir joined the new opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was one of the founding members of this party. He quickly became an important leader within the APC.
He was appointed as the National Vice-Chairman for the North West region of the APC. In this role, he helped lead the party in that part of Nigeria. He also became the Chairman of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). NAFDAC is an important agency that makes sure food and medicine are safe in Nigeria.
In 2019, he faced some challenges within the APC. He was suspended from the party's state chapter. This was because of his support for Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who had moved to another political party. Inuwa Abdulkadir passed away in 2020.
Personal Life
Inuwa Abdulkadir was married and had ten children. He died on July 6, 2020. His death was due to complications from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria.
