Isabel Granada (born Isabella Villarama Granada; March 9, 1976 – November 4, 2017) was a talented Filipino actress and singer. She was known for her many roles in TV shows and movies.

Early Life and Education
Isabel Granada was born to Humberto Ortiz Granada, who was a marine engineer from the Philippines, and Isabel Villarama, a homemaker from Spain. Her father passed away in 1995.
Isabel was not just an actress; she was also very smart! She studied at the Philippine Air Transport and Training Services College. In 2001, she earned a degree in aeronautical engineering. This means she learned how to design and build aircraft. She also got her private pilot license, which allowed her to fly planes. For two years, she even served as an Airman Second Class in the Philippine Air Force.
Isabel's Career in Entertainment
Before becoming a famous actress, Isabel Granada started her career as a commercial model.
Acting Journey
Isabel's acting journey began in 1986 when she auditioned for a TV show called That's Entertainment. She became a popular member of the show's Tuesday group.
She starred in the film Ligaya ang Itawag Mo sa Akin. For her role in this movie, she won the FAMAS Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1998. This was a big award for her acting!
After that, Isabel joined the cast of the TV series Ikaw Na Sana. She also appeared in the drama series Sa Puso Ko Iingatan Ka on ABS-CBN. In this show, she worked alongside famous actors like Judy Ann Santos and Piolo Pascual.
Isabel took a break from acting between 2004 and 2006 after her son was born. She returned to acting in 2007 with GMA Network. She appeared in shows like Sine Novela: Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig and Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan.
In 2008, Isabel played Elena Valderama in the remake of Kaputol ng Isang Awit. She also appeared in the romantic comedy Lalola. In 2009, she was a guest star in the Philippine version of Zorro.
In her later years, in 2013, she joined the "Bida Kapamilya Celebrity Round" on It's Showtime. She also worked on ABS-CBN's Got to Believe as Tessa Zaragosa. In this show, she acted with popular young stars like Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla.
In 2017, Isabel took on a challenging role as Jessica in Wish Ko Lang. She played a woman who pretended to be a man to earn money and feed her children.
Music Career
Isabel Granada was also a singer! In 1990, she released her first album, simply called Isabel Granada. It featured popular songs like "Crush na Crush", "Classmate Dear Classmate", and "My Inspiration".
Later, she released more albums. In 1998, she released Out Here on My Own. In 2000, she released In the Mood for Love.
Personal Life
Isabel Granada was married twice. Her first marriage was to Geryk Genasky in 2002. They had one son named Hubert Thomas Jericho Granada Aguas. They separated after twelve years.
In 2015, Isabel married Arnel Cowley. She became a stepmother to his two daughters, Sarah and Abbey Cowley.
Coma and Passing
On October 25, 2017, Isabel Granada was in Doha, Qatar, for a special event. She was a guest speaker at the Philippine Tourism and Trade Conference. During a meet and greet with her fans, she suddenly fell into a coma. She experienced six cardiac arrests.
Isabel was quickly taken to the hospital. Doctors found that she had a problem with her brain that affected her heart. On October 27, 2017, she was declared brain dead. Isabel Granada passed away on November 4, 2017, at the age of 41. Her body was brought back to the Philippines and she was cremated on November 12.
Legacy and Remembrance
Isabel Granada is still remembered and honored. On November 21, 2017, she was given a star on the Eastwood City Walk of Fame. This is a special honor for famous people in the Philippines.
In December 2017, a TV show called Wagas told the love story of Isabel and her husband, Arnel Cowley. Actress Kim Rodriguez played Isabel, and actor Benjamin Alves played Arnel.
