History of Ithaca
The village of Ithaca was first planned out in 1832 by a man named John Colville. He originally called it "Twinsborough." The village grew quickly because it was located on an important highway and near the Ohio Electric Railway, which was a type of electric train line. Later, the village's name was changed to Ithaca, taking its name from Ithaca, New York.
