Ittiri (which is Itiri Cannedu in the local Sardinian language) is a town in the Province of Sassari in Sardinia, Italy. It's located about 160 kilometers (100 miles) northwest of Cagliari and about 15 kilometers (9 miles) south of Sassari. Ittiri is part of the traditional Logudoro region.
The town of Ittiri sits on a high flat area, about 400 meters (1,312 feet) above sea level. The land around it has many hills and valleys. These valleys are used for farming. You can find mountains like Monte Torru (622 m) and Mount Jana (552 m) nearby.

Ittiri has a charming old town with many interesting buildings. You can see baroque palaces and houses with special designs. Many streets in the center are still paved with old stones.
- Church of San Pietro in Vincoli: This church was built in the 13th century. Its bell tower was added in the 18th century, and the front of the church in the 19th century.
- Church of San Francesco: This used to be a Franciscan convent. It has a restored library that belonged to the Franciscans.

Ittiri's Special Title
In April 2000, the President of Italy gave Ittiri the special title of "City." This is an honor for the town.
Ittiri's Economy
Ittiri's economy mainly relies on farming and traditional crafts.
- Farming: Many farms here grow vegetables. A famous one is the Sardinian spiky artichoke.
- Dairy: Ittiri is known for making a lot of sheep cheese. Much of this cheese is sent to the United States.
- Crafts: There are many businesses that make typical Sardinian sweets. One very famous sweet, called "Piricchittu," comes from Ittiri.
- Construction: Some local businesses work with a special local stone called trachyte.
Fun Events in Ittiri
Ittiri hosts many exciting events throughout the year!
- Ittiritmi: This is an International Music and Ethnic Music Festival. It started in 1986 and usually happens in August. Artists from all over the world come to perform. Besides music, the festival also includes theater, literature, and photography.
- Ittiri Folk Party: Since 1986, this event has brought popular music and folk dances to Ittiri. It usually takes place in July. There's a parade, an exhibition of old items, and you can taste local foods.
- Prendas de Ittiri: Meaning "jewels of Ittiri," this fair showcases local food products and handicrafts. It started in 2006 and happens in late March or early April.
- The Biennial of Trachyte: Since 1994, this event features many sculptures made from the local trachyte stone. You can see them displayed in the streets and squares.
- Rock 'n' Wine: This event combines a regional wine show with performances by new rock bands from northern Sardinia. It happens in the first week of July.
- Cantigos de sos tres Re: This event celebrates old Christmas traditions. It started in 2003 and takes place in late December.
- CantInCoro: Since 1989, this show features traditional Sardinian choirs. It usually happens on the Saturday before Christmas.
- Ittirese Carnival: Ittiri celebrates carnival with parades and parties. There's also a Summer carnival that started in 2013.
- Field Day Coros: This is a gathering for amateur radio enthusiasts. It has been held in September at the Sanctuary of Coros since 2014.
