José Iván Gutiérrez Palacios (born November 27, 1978) is a famous Spanish former professional cyclist. He was known for being a strong rider in both road races and time trials. A time trial is a race against the clock, where cyclists ride alone.
Iván won many important races during his career. He was the Spanish national road race champion twice and the Spanish time trial champion three times. He also earned a silver medal at the World Championships in 2005 for the time trial.
One of his biggest achievements was winning the Eneco Tour two years in a row, in 2007 and 2008. He rode for the UCI ProTeam Movistar Team for most of his career. Iván Gutiérrez retired from professional cycling in 2014.
