Ivanhoe is a city located in Tyler County, Texas, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,327 people lived there.
In November 2009, the people of Ivanhoe voted to make their community an official city. This process is called "incorporation." Bill Preston was chosen as the first mayor. Two city commissioners, Cathy Bennett and Will Warren, were also elected.
Ivanhoe's incorporation happened at the same time as a nearby community, Ivanhoe North, also became a city. The plan was for these two new cities to eventually join together. This would make the combined city the second-largest in Tyler County. On November 2, 2010, the people voted to merge the two cities into one larger City of Ivanhoe.
