Ivesdale is a small village located in Champaign County, Illinois, in the United States. A tiny part of the village also reaches into Piatt County, Illinois. In 2020, about 265 people lived in Ivesdale.
History of Ivesdale
Ivesdale is home to the Saint Joseph Catholic Parish. The beautiful Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church was built in 1894. People in the area often call it "The Cathedral of the Cornfield" because it stands out in the flat farmlands.
One important person in Ivesdale's history was Bernard Alblinger. He was the village's mayor, which is like the leader of the town government. He served for a very long time, from 1963 until he passed away in 2011. That's 48 years in a row! He was one of the longest-serving mayors in Illinois history.
