Ivo de Aldeburgh was an important soldier during the reigns of King Edward I and King Edward II of England. He fought in the wars against Scotland.

In 1305, Ivo was given the job of Sheriff for three areas in Scotland: Edinburgh, Haddington, and Linlithgow. A Sheriff was like a local leader who helped keep the peace and enforce laws.

Later, a Scottish nobleman named Edward Balliol gave Ivo some land in a place called Broxmouth. This gift was later confirmed by King Edward III, showing how much the kings trusted Ivo.

In 1312, Ivo became the Warden of Roxburgh Castle. A warden was in charge of looking after a castle and making sure it was safe. Then, in 1321, he was appointed Sheriff of Rutland in England. He also became the constable of Oakham Castle, which meant he was responsible for the castle's military defense.
