Järpen is a small town, also known as a locality, in Sweden. It is the main administrative center, or "seat," of Åre Municipality. Järpen is located in Jämtland County. In 2010, about 1,408 people lived there.
Where is Järpen?
Järpen is found in a beautiful part of Sweden. It sits about 324 meters (1,063 feet) above sea level. The town is right next to the Indalsälven river. This river is one of the longest in Sweden.

The land around Järpen is quite special. The soil here has a lot of lime in it. This type of soil is called "calcareous soil." Because of this special soil, many rare mosses and other unique plants can grow here. It makes the area a great place for nature lovers to explore.
