Jenílson Ângelo de Souza (born June 20, 1973), known mostly as Júnior, is a Brazilian former professional footballer. He played as a left back, which is a defensive position on the left side of the football field. Júnior was known for his speed and skill.

Júnior had a long and successful career playing for many different football clubs. He also proudly represented his home country, Brazil, in international matches. He is remembered for winning important championships.
Playing for Clubs
Júnior started his football journey in Brazil. He played for clubs like Vitória and Palmeiras. After playing in Brazil, he moved to Italy. There, he joined Parma and later Siena. He played in Italy from 2000 to 2004.
Winning Big Trophies
While playing for Parma, Júnior helped his team win the 2001–02 Coppa Italia. This is a major football cup in Italy. He even scored a very important goal in the final match against Juventus. This goal helped Parma win the trophy.
After his time in Italy, Júnior returned to Brazil. He played for São Paulo for several years. With São Paulo, he won many more titles. These included the Copa Libertadores in 2005, which is a huge South American club competition. He also won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2005, making São Paulo the best club team in the world that year. He also helped São Paulo win the Brazilian League three times in a row, from 2006 to 2008. Later in his career, he played for Atlético Mineiro and Goiás.

His most famous moment with the national team was being part of the squad that won the 2002 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the biggest achievements in football. He scored his only international goal during this World Cup, in a match against Costa Rica. Júnior also played for Brazil in other big tournaments, like the 1998 CONCACAF Gold Cup and the 2001 Copa América.
