Joseph Carl Bailey Jr. (born August 23, 1983 – died August 30, 2010) was an American professional wrestler. He was famous by his ring name, J. C. Bailey. He wrestled for many groups in the United States. These included Combat Zone Wrestling, IWA Mid-South, and IWA East Coast.

J. C. Bailey's Wrestling Career

J. C. Bailey started his professional wrestling career in 2001. He quickly became known for his exciting matches.

Early Championships and Tournaments

On March 29, 2003, Bailey won his first big title. He defeated Nate Webb to become the IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Champion. He lost the title in May, but won it back just one week later.

In June 2003, Bailey, Ian Rotten, and Corporal Robinson visited Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW). They were representing IWA Mid-South. The next month, Bailey took part in the second annual CZW Tournament of Death. This was a tough competition. He lost to Nick Mondo in a special match that used light tubes.

On August 9, Bailey lost his IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Championship to Sonjay Dutt. He also competed in the fifth IWA Mid-South King of the Deathmatch tournament. He beat 2 Tuff Tony, Necro Butcher, and Ian Rotten. However, he lost in the final match to Mad Man Pondo.

On November 21, Bailey won the IWA Mid-South Light Heavyweight Championship for the third time. He won a match against Dutt and Nate Webb. He held this title for two months. He then lost it to Matt Sydal on January 17, 2004.

More Championships and Hardcore Matches

In June 2004, Bailey competed in the sixth King of the Deathmatch tournament. He also took part in the third Tournament of Death. He beat Chri$ Ca$h but then lost to Wifebeater.

On December 11, 2004, Bailey teamed up with Chri$ Ca$h, Nate Webb, and SeXXXy Eddy. They won the CZW World Tag Team Championship. This group was known as Team Ca$h. They held the championship until February 5, 2005. That night, Bailey also became the first-ever CZW Ultraviolent Underground Champion. He lost this title to Zandig in July 2005.

The next month, on August 13, Bailey won the Ultraviolent Underground Championship again. He defeated Necro Butcher in a special match. He kept this title for over five months. He lost it to Nick Gage on January 14, 2006.

Between 2005 and 2007, Bailey competed in many more hardcore tournaments. These included the fourth and fifth Tournaments of Death. He also wrestled in the seventh and eighth King of the Deathmatch tournaments.

Wrestling in Japan and Later Career

On August 20, 2006, J. C. Bailey traveled to Japan. He competed in the WRESTLE EXPO 2006 tournament. He defeated Mad Man Pondo but then lost to 2 Tuff Tony. On September 16, 2006, he took part in the first Masters of Pain tournament. He beat 2 Tuff Tony and Corporal Robinson. He then lost to the "Crazy Monkey" Jun Kasai.

In December 2009, Bailey returned to CZW at Cage of Death 11. He joined a wrestling group called The Cult Fiction. This group was led by 'Halfbreed' Billy Gram. Other members included tHURTeen, Brain Damage, and Masada. They started a rivalry with popular wrestlers like Danny Havoc, Drake Younger, Scotty Vortekz, and Eddie Kingston.

On May 15, 2010, Bailey won the Ohio Hatchet Wrestling's "Death In The Valley" Deathmatch Tournament. He defeated Drake Younger in the finals. On June 5, Bailey won the 2010 IWA Mid-South King of the Deathmatch tournament. He beat Ian Rotten, Nick Gage, and Balls Mahoney to reach the final. There, he defeated Devon Moore.

On June 26, Bailey competed in CZW's Tournament of Death 9. He did well in the first two rounds. However, he lost in the finals to Vortekz.

Personal Life

J. C. Bailey's father, Joseph Bailey, ran a wrestling company called Bad 2 the Bone Wrestling in Kentucky. His father passed away in 2013.

Death

J. C. Bailey was found dead on August 30, 2010. He passed away in his sleep. Before his death, he had mentioned having headaches and numbness in his hands. Doctors later found that he died from a brain aneurysm. This was caused by problems from many concussions and head injuries over time.
