Ernest Lenell "J. R." Bremer is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was born on September 19, 1980. J. R. played as a point guard, which is like the team's leader on the court. He played for teams in the NBA in the U.S. and also for many teams in Europe. He even played for the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. J. R. is also the grandson of Eugene Bremer, a famous baseball pitcher from the Negro Leagues.

Playing College Basketball
J. R. Bremer played basketball in college. He was part of the St. Bonaventure Bonnies men's basketball team at St. Bonaventure University.
Starting in the NBA
In 2002, J. R. Bremer showed off his skills at the NBA Chicago pre-draft camp. He was ranked as the top athlete there. Even though no team picked him in the draft, he still got a chance to play. He signed with the NBA's Boston Celtics in 2002.
NBA All-Rookie Team
During his first season, J. R. was named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. This is a special honor for new players. He played two seasons in the NBA. He was with the Celtics, the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Golden State Warriors. He was known for being good at shooting three-point shots.
Moving to Europe
After his time in the NBA, J. R. Bremer moved to Europe in 2004. He played for many different basketball clubs there. He played in Spain, Italy, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russia, and Turkey.

After his playing career, J. R. Bremer became a coach. On May 22, 2019, he became the head coach at his old high school, Cleveland Heights High School. His jersey number, 22, was already retired by the school to honor his achievements.
