Jacinto Vera is a cool barrio, which means a neighborhood or district, in Montevideo, Uruguay. It's named after Jacinto Vera (1813-1881). He was a very important person, the first Catholic bishop of Montevideo. This area is also home to a big building that used to be a military school. Now, it's where the Army Command is located.

Where is Jacinto Vera Located?
Jacinto Vera is in a busy part of Montevideo. It shares its borders with several other neighborhoods. To the west, you'll find La Figurita. To the north, it's next to Brazo Oriental and Bolívar. On the east side, it borders Larrañaga. Finally, to the south, it's close to La Comercial.
Key Landmarks in Jacinto Vera
At the northeast corner of the neighborhood, there's a special square. This is where a main road called Artigas Boulevard makes a sharp 90-degree turn. In this square, you can see a famous statue. It's called the Monument to Luis Batlle Berres. He was an important political leader in Uruguay.

Saint Antoninus Church
