Jack Bishop is a well-known American chef and writer who specializes in Italian cuisine and vegetarian cooking. He is the main creative officer for America's Test Kitchen, a popular cooking show on PBS.
About Jack Bishop
Jack Bishop learned to cook in Florence, Italy. He grew up in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. His mom taught him how to cook when he was 12 years old. This happened because she worked late, and his dad wasn't a great cook. Today, Jack lives in Sag Harbor, New York, with his wife, Lauren Chattman, who is also a food writer. They have two daughters. Jack has been part of his local community farm for ten years.
Jack's Cooking Career
Jack Bishop started his career in 1988 at Cook's Magazine. He helped launch Cook's Illustrated in 1993. During his time there, he created special ways to taste and test food. These methods are still used at America's Test Kitchen today.
He also edited a cookbook called The Best Recipe in 1999. In 2005, he helped lead Cook's Country magazine. Jack is a regular on America’s Test Kitchen and Cook’s Country on PBS. He hosts the "Testing Lab" parts of the shows. He is also an executive producer for these shows. You might also see Jack on Today on (NBC).
