John Crompton (born December 18, 1921 – died July 4, 2013) was a famous English football player. He was born in Hulme, Manchester, England. Jack was a talented goalkeeper for Manchester United from 1944 to 1956.
He was a key part of the Manchester United team that won the FA Cup in 1948. He also helped them win the league title in 1952. During the Second World War, he played as a guest for Stockport County.

Playing for Manchester United

Honoring a Legend
He attended the opening of an exhibit at the club museum. This exhibit celebrated 100 years of Old Trafford, Manchester United's stadium.
The Jack Crompton Trophy
Jack was also the president of Curzon Ashton. In 2012, a friendly match was played between Curzon Ashton and a Manchester United reserve team. The winner received the "Jack Crompton Trophy," named in his honor.
Jack Crompton passed away on July 4, 2013, at the age of 91.
