John Burton "Jack" Davis, Jr. (born December 2, 1924 – died July 27, 2016) was a famous American cartoonist and illustrator. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia. Jack Davis was known for his amazing art in advertisements, on magazine covers, and for movie posters. He also created art for record albums and drew many comic book stories. He was one of the first cartoonists to work for Mad magazine when it started in 1952. His cartoon characters are easy to spot because they have very unique bodies, often with big heads, thin legs, and really large feet.

Jack Davis was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He loved drawing from a young age. After he finished school, he got a job as a cartoonist intern at The Atlanta Journal newspaper. One summer, he even worked on the Mark Trail comic strip. He later made a funny version of this strip for Mad magazine, calling it Mark Trade.
