Jacob Alexander May, born on January 23, 1992, is an American former baseball player. He played as an outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). Jacob played for the Chicago White Sox in 2017.

Jacob May's Early Baseball Days
Jacob May was first picked by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2010 MLB draft. This was when he was still in high school. But Jacob decided not to sign with them. Instead, he went to Coastal Carolina University. There, he played college baseball for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers team.
In 2012, Jacob played summer baseball for the Cotuit Kettleers. This team is part of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He was even chosen as an all-star player in that league.
Jacob May's Professional Career
The Chicago White Sox chose Jacob May in the third round of the 2013 MLB draft. He started his professional career with the Great Falls Voyagers. Later, he moved up to play for the Kannapolis Intimidators. After that season, he played baseball in Australia. He joined the Sydney Blue Sox team.
Playing in the Minor Leagues
Jacob played for different teams in the minor leagues. In 2014, he played for the Winston-Salem Dash. In 2015, he was with the Double-A Birmingham Barons. Then, in 2016, he played for the Triple-A Charlotte Knights. The White Sox added him to their main team roster after the 2016 season.
Time in Major League Baseball
On March 28, 2017, Jacob May was named the starting center fielder for the White Sox. This was for the start of the season. However, he only played in 15 games for the team that year. He had 2 hits in 36 tries. He also had three RBIs and three walks. He spent most of that year playing for the Charlotte Knights.
On January 11, 2018, Jacob May was removed from the White Sox's main roster. This was to make space for a new pitcher. He played in 81 games for the Charlotte Knights. He left the team on July 28, 2018.
