Jacqueline Joan Kim is an American writer, actress, filmmaker, and composer. She is known for her work in movies and TV shows. She was even nominated for a special award called the Independent Spirit Award for her acting in the movie Charlotte Sometimes.

Early Life
Jacqueline Kim was born on March 31, 1970, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has Korean parents and is the youngest of three sisters. She grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
Jacqueline started acting in plays when she was only four years old. She went to a small theater called 'Willow Way'. She finished high school at Lahser High School in 1988. Later, she studied theater at DePaul University in Chicago. She earned a special degree called a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Acting Career
After college, Jacqueline started acting on stage in different cities. She performed in Chicago and at The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. She then moved to Minneapolis. For four seasons, she acted at the Guthrie Theater. Some of her roles there included Nina in The Seagull and the main character in Electra.
In late 1993, Jacqueline moved to Los Angeles. This is where her film career began. She quickly got big roles in two major movies. These were Star Trek Generations and Barry Levinson's Disclosure.
Famous Roles
Jacqueline continued to act in many films. She worked with Tommy Lee Jones in the movie Volcano. In 1999, she played Yon Greene in Brokedown Palace. Her character was a lawyer in Bangkok.
In 2001, she starred in the film The Operator. She shared the main role in this movie. Her most recognized film role was in Eric Byler's Charlotte Sometimes. A famous film critic, Roger Ebert, really liked her performance. Jacqueline was nominated for two Independent Spirit Awards for her work in this film.
Television and Music
Jacqueline Kim is also well-known for her role in the TV series Xena: Warrior Princess. She played Lao Ma, who was Xena's spiritual teacher. This was a two-part story called "The Debt, Part I and II".
In 2004, she won an award for her acting in the musical Passion. This was a play put on by East West Players. Jacqueline also has a talent for music. In 2011, she released her first music collection called This I Heard (song & melodies, part I).
Recent Work
In 2015, Jacqueline finished working on the film Advantageous. She did many things for this movie. She helped write the story, produced it, and even composed some of the music. She also starred in the film alongside actors like Jennifer Ehle and Ken Jeong.
