Prince Jacques is a young prince from Monaco. He was born on December 10, 2014. He is the son of Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene. He is also the twin brother of Princess Gabriella.
Prince Jacques is the heir apparent to the throne of Monaco. This means he is next in line to become the ruler. He also has the special title of Marquis of Baux. This title has been given to the future rulers of Monaco since 1643.

The Exciting News
On May 30, 2014, the palace announced that Princess Charlene was expecting a baby. Later, on October 9, 2014, it was confirmed that the royal couple was expecting twins!
A Special Royal Birth
The palace shared exciting plans for the twins' arrival. On November 21, 2014, they announced that each twin would receive a special salute. This would be 21 cannon shots fired from Fort Antoine. Church bells would also ring for fifteen minutes. Boat horns would join in the celebration. The day of their birth was even declared a public holiday!
Prince Jacques was born on December 10, 2014. He arrived at Monaco's Princess Grace Hospital Centre. He was born just two minutes after his sister, Gabriella. Princess Charlene shared that she chose the name Jacques. This name is common in her home country. The names Honoré and Rainier are traditional names for Monaco's past rulers. Prince Jacques received the title Marquis of Baux from his father. The twins were officially presented to the public on January 7, 2015. This day was also a public holiday in Monaco.
Their Christening Day
Jacques and Gabriella were baptized on May 10, 2015. Their christening took place at the Cathedral of Our Lady Immaculate in Monaco-Ville.
