Jacques Pereira (born February 3, 1955 – died November 3, 2020) was a talented Portuguese football player. Most people knew him simply as Jacques. He was a striker, which means his main job was to score goals for his team!

Jacques' Football Journey
Jacques was born in Casablanca, Morocco. His parents were from Portugal. He started his professional football career in Portugal's top league, the Primeira Liga, playing for S.C. Farense.
Playing for Top Teams
After playing a bit in the second division for F.C. Famalicão, Jacques returned to the top league. He joined S.C. Braga for the 1979–80 season. He played so well there that a very famous team, FC Porto, noticed him.
In 1981, Jacques joined FC Porto. He had an amazing first season, scoring 27 goals! This made him the top scorer in the league that year. Even though his team didn't win any trophies, his goal-scoring was incredible.
Playing for Portugal
Because of his great performance, Jacques got to play for the Portuguese national team. This is a huge honor for any footballer! He played one game for his country in 1981. It was a friendly match against Bulgaria.
Later Career and Retirement
In 1985, Jacques left FC Porto. He went back to play for S.C. Braga for two more years. After that, he played for S.C. Covilhã. He finally retired from football in 1994 when he was 39 years old. He spent his last years playing for Lusitano Futebol Clube and a local amateur team.
His Passing
Jacques passed away on November 3, 2020, at his home in Vila Real de Santo António, Portugal. He was 65 years old.
