Jacqui Hurley, born on January 15, 1984, in County Cork, is a well-known sports broadcaster and TV host. She works for RTÉ, which is Ireland's national radio and television station. Jacqui often presents sports news on RTÉ News. She also hosts The Sunday Game highlights show and co-hosts Up for the Match. From 2009 to 2023, she co-presented Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1. Jacqui Hurley's Early Life
Jacqui Hurley spent some of her childhood in Australia during the 1980s. Her parents are David and Mairead Hurley, and she has a sister named Catriona and a brother named Sean. Jacqui loved sports from a young age. She played basketball for Ireland and camogie for Cork. After her playing career, she started managing the Irish under-16 female basketball team. In 2006, she graduated from Mary Immaculate College (MIC) with a degree in Media and Communication Studies.

Television Work
Before joining RTÉ, Jacqui worked as an intern at CBS Television in Mississippi, United States. She was supposed to stay for eight months but ended up staying for a year. This experience helped her discover her passion for sports broadcasting. She also worked in local radio before starting at RTÉ in 2006.
At RTÉ, Jacqui has worked on many sports shows. She reported for the sports magazine OB Sport. She also had a preview slot on the daytime chat show Seoige. On Monday Night Soccer, a show about the League of Ireland, she had a weekly segment called "60 Sixty." In this part of the show, she would ask a different footballer questions for sixty seconds.
Since November 2016, Jacqui has presented the sports quiz show Know The Score on RTÉ. In January 2023, RTÉ announced that Jacqui Hurley would become the new presenter of The Sunday Game highlights show. She took over from Des Cahill, becoming a main face for Irish sports fans.
Radio Work
Jacqui's radio career began at Live 95fm in Limerick after she finished college. One of her first big assignments was covering Munster's win in the 2006 Heineken Cup final.
She also appeared often on The Colm & Jim-Jim Breakfast Show on RTÉ 2fm. Her sports blog was a regular feature on the show.
In early 2009, Jacqui made history when she became the co-presenter of Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1. She was only 25 years old and became the first female presenter in the show's 40-year history. After 14 years, she announced in January 2023 that she would be leaving Sunday Sport. She wanted to focus more on her TV work and spend time with her family.
Writing Books
Jacqui Hurley is also an author! Her first book is called Girls Play Too: Inspiring Stories of Irish Sportswomen. It was published in September 2020. This book is for children and features stories about some of Ireland's best female athletes. It aims to inspire young girls to get involved in sports.

Jacqui Hurley lives in Dublin with her husband, Shane McMahon. They have two children, a son named Luke and a daughter named Lily. In August 2011, Jacqui helped launch the Tomás Mulligan Memorial Cycle. This is an annual event that raises money for Pieta House, a center that helps people in crisis.
