What is the Jaguar Conservation Fund?
Jaguars live in many places, from northern Argentina all the way to the southwestern United States. Almost half (48%) of all jaguars live in Brazil. Even though jaguars are considered endangered in Brazil, there were not many groups working to save them before the JCF started.
Today, the JCF is the only non-governmental organization (NGO) in Brazil that focuses only on protecting jaguars. An NGO is a group that works for a cause, not for a government.
What Does the JCF Do?
The Jaguar Conservation Fund does a lot of important work to help jaguars. They do scientific research in different parts of Brazil. These areas include the Amazon, Cerrado, Caatinga, and Pantanal. They also help other groups working in the Atlantic Forest.
