Jai Field, born on September 6, 1997, is an Australian professional rugby league player. He is known for playing as a fullback or stand-off. Currently, he plays for the Wigan Warriors in the Super League. Before joining Wigan, he played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons and the Parramatta Eels in the NRL.

Where Jai Field Grew Up
Jai Field was born in Forbes, a town in New South Wales, Australia. He has both Irish and Indigenous Australian heritage, specifically from the Wiradjuri people.
Starting Rugby League
He began his rugby league journey playing for the Shellharbour Sharks as a junior. Later, he was signed by the St. George Illawarra Dragons to continue his career.

Starting in 2016
In 2016, Jai Field played for the St. George Illawarra Dragons' youth team, known as the NYC team. In December of that year, he signed a new three-year contract with the club.
Making His NRL Debut in 2017
Jai Field made his first appearance in the NRL in 2017. This happened in Round 1 of the 2017 NRL season against the Penrith Panthers. He played two more games later that season when other players were injured.
Playing in 2018 and 2019
In 2018, Field played in two first-grade games, coming off the bench as a substitute. He played in six games for St. George in the 2019 NRL season. The team finished near the bottom of the league that year. In November 2019, it was announced that Jai Field was leaving the club.
Joining Parramatta Eels
His Season in 2020
On February 20, 2020, Jai Field signed a special "train-and-trial" contract with Parramatta. This happened after a planned move to an English team, Leeds, didn't work out. He played in a trial game for Parramatta.
Later, on May 24, Field signed a full contract to join Parramatta's development squad for the rest of the 2020 NRL season. He made his debut for Parramatta in Round 8, scoring a try in a big win against North Queensland. On October 12, Field was released by Parramatta. He was then announced as a Wigan Warriors player for the 2021 season.
Playing for Wigan Warriors
Starting in 2021
Jai Field played his first game for Wigan in 2021 against Leigh Centurions. Sadly, he got a serious hamstring injury early in the game, which kept him out for five months. He returned in August but then got another injury, a groin injury, which ended his season.
Amazing Season in 2022
Field had a fantastic start to the 2022 season. He scored and converted his own try in the first game against Hull KR. He then scored three tries (a hat-trick) and converted them in Wigan's second game against Leeds Rhinos. He continued to score many tries throughout March and April.
Jai Field played in the 2022 Challenge Cup Final on May 28. He had been a key player in Wigan's journey to the final, scoring another hat-trick in the quarter-finals. He scored a try in the final, helping Wigan win 16–14 against Huddersfield. This was his first major trophy.
He finished the 2022 season with 25 tries and four conversions. He won several awards, including Wigan Warriors Player of the Year and Player's Player of the Year. He was also named RLWBA Player of the Year and was chosen for the Super League Dream Team as a fullback.
Success in 2023
Field scored in the first three matches of the 2023 Super League season. He scored two tries in a big win against the Leigh Leopards. However, he suffered another hamstring injury during that game, which kept him out for two months.
He returned in June and scored in a derby game against St Helens. Field scored three tries (a hat-trick) in a huge 64–6 win against Hull Kingston Rovers. He scored again in Round 24 against Salford, which helped Wigan reach the top of the table. Wigan then went on to win the 2023 League Leaders' Shield.
In the play-off semi-final, Field scored two tries against Hull Kingston Rovers, winning 42–12. On October 14, Field played in the 2023 Super League Grand Final. Wigan defeated the Catalans Dragons 10–2, winning the 2023 Super League title.
More Trophies in 2024
Before the 2024 season, Jai Field signed a new four-year contract with Wigan. On February 24, he played in Wigan's 2024 World Club Challenge final victory over Penrith. On June 8, Field also played in Wigan's 2024 Challenge Cup final victory over Warrington. On October 12, Field played in Wigan's 9-2 grand final victory over Hull Kingston Rovers.
The 2025 Season So Far
In Round 2 of the 2025 Super League season, Field scored three tries (a hat-trick) in Wigan's big 46-4 win over Hull F.C. He was named Super League player of the month for February. In March, Field got a hamstring injury during Wigan's Challenge Cup game against Hull F.C. Later that month, he signed another new four-year deal with the club.
