Jaime Angelopoulos was born in 1982 and is a Canadian artist. She is a sculptor, which means she creates art by shaping materials. Jaime lives and works in Toronto. She is well-known for making art with abstract gestural shapes. This means her sculptures often have flowing, non-realistic forms that look like they were made with quick, expressive movements.

Becoming an Artist

Jaime Angelopoulos studied art at several universities. She earned her first art degree, a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), in 2005 from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. Later, in 2010, she received her Master of Fine Arts (MFA) from York University. She also spent time studying at the Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas. These studies helped her learn and grow as a sculptor.

Her Artistic Journey

Since finishing her studies at York University in 2010, Jaime Angelopoulos has worked from her art studio in Toronto. She creates art every day. Her sculptural work often starts with drawing and writing.

Jaime has also been an artist-in-residence at different places. This means she lived and worked in a special art space for a period. She had residencies at the Banff Centre in Banff, Alberta, and at the KulttuuriKauppila Art Centre in Finland. Her Amazing Artworks

Jaime Angelopoulos has shown her art in many places. She has had solo exhibitions, which means her art was the only art on display, in cities like Montreal, Toronto, and Cambridge, Ontario. Her work has also been part of group exhibitions with other artists in Finland, Regina, and Oakville. You can find her sculptures in company buildings, art institutions, and private collections.

Some of her most famous artworks are large installations. An installation is a big art piece made for a specific space.
