A Young Star's Journey
Jaimee Foxworth started her career very early. She began modeling when she was just five years old. Soon, her face appeared in many national television commercials. This early start helped her land a big role. She became Judy Winslow on the long-running TV show Family Matters. Judy was the youngest of the three Winslow children.
Life on Family Matters
As the show Family Matters continued, a new character named Steve Urkel became very popular. Steve Urkel was played by Jaleel White. After Steve Urkel joined the show, Jaimee's character, Judy, had fewer scenes. Because Judy had less to do and due to budget changes, the producers decided to remove her from the series. This happened after the fourth season.
The character of Judy simply disappeared from the show without explanation. The Winslow family then only talked about two children: Eddie, played by Darius McCrary, and Laura, played by Kellie Shanygne Williams. Jo Marie Payton, who played the mother, Harriette Winslow, was very sad about Jaimee's departure. She felt that the producers thought "nobody would notice" Judy was gone.
Music and Other Ventures
After leaving Family Matters, Jaimee Foxworth did not get many acting roles for a while. She decided to explore her musical talents. Jaimee formed an R&B music group called S.H.E. She created this group with her two sisters, Tyren Perry and Jania Perry.
The group released their first album, 3's a Charm, on July 1, 1997. It was released through a record label connected to the famous basketball player Shaquille O'Neal. This showed Jaimee's talent beyond acting.
Personal Life
Jaimee Foxworth has faced various challenges in her life. In 2009, People magazine shared some happy news. They reported that Jaimee and her longtime boyfriend, Michael Shaw, had a child together.
