Jake Kaminski (born August 11, 1988) is a talented American archer. He is famous for winning silver medals in team archery at the Olympic Games.

About Jake Kaminski

Jake Kaminski was born in Buffalo, New York. He grew up in Elma, New York. Today, he lives in Gainesville, Florida. For many years, starting in 2006, Jake lived and trained at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. This is where he worked hard to become a top archer.

Jake's Archery Journey

Starting Archery Young

Jake Kaminski began his archery journey at just six years old. He started near his hometown of Elma, New York. At first, he focused on compound shooting at a Junior Olympic Development Club. A compound bow uses a system of cables and pulleys to make it easier to hold at full draw.

Switching to Recurve Bows

When Jake was 15, he decided to focus on recurve archery. A recurve bow is the type of bow used in the Olympics. He made this change because he dreamed of competing in the Olympic Games one day.

Olympic Success

Jake's hard work paid off. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, he competed for the United States. He and his teammates, Brady Ellison and Jacob Wukie, won a silver Olympic medal in the men's team event.

He continued his success at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Once again, he competed for the U.S. in the men's team event. With teammates Brady Ellison and Zach Garrett, he earned another silver Olympic medal.

Other Major Wins

Jake has also won many other important medals. He won a gold medal at the 2013 World Archery Championships in the team event. He also took home gold at the 2010 FITA Archery World Cup in the mixed team event. At the 2012 World Indoor Archery Championships, he won gold with his team and a silver medal individually. In 2011, he won gold at the 2011 Pan American Games in the team event. He also won an individual gold medal at the Pan-American Championships in 2010.
