Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf Aliani (Urdu: جام مير محمد یوسف عالياني; born February 14, 1954 – died February 16, 2012) was an important leader in Pakistan. He was the 12th 'Jam' of Lasbela, which is like a traditional ruler or chief of a region. He also served as the Chief Minister of the Balochistan province of Pakistan.
Early Life and Family
Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf was born in 1954 in Lasbela, Balochistan. His family, the Koreja Family, belonged to the Samma Tribe. This tribe was known for ruling over the Sindh region in the past.
Political Journey
Jam Yousaf was the Chief Minister of Balochistan province from 2002 to 2007. A Chief Minister is like the head of the government for a province, similar to a governor or premier. During his time, he also worked as a minister in charge of important areas like water, electricity, and railways. This means he helped make decisions about these services for the people of Balochistan.
Before becoming Chief Minister, he was a member of both the national parliament (called an MNA) and the Balochistan provincial assembly (called an MPA). These roles involve representing people and helping to make laws. From 2002, he was also the leader of a political party called Pakistan Muslim League (Q) in Balochistan.
His Passing
Jam Mohammad Yousaf passed away on February 16, 2012, in Islamabad, due to a heart attack. He was laid to rest in the Bara Bagh Cemetery, Lasbela.
