Jamaica Blue is a chain of coffee shops. It is part of a larger company called Foodco. You can find these cafes in many countries around the world. In 2012, the very first Jamaica Blue cafe opened in Singapore. That same year, the company celebrated its 20th birthday! Today, Jamaica Blue has about 134 cafes in 7 different countries. On October 16, 2014, the 100th cafe in Australia opened. This special cafe was in a new shopping area called Westfield Miranda. Jamaica Blue is also like a "sister company" to Muffin Break. Both are part of the Foodco family.
Amazing Achievements
The Jamaica Blue brand has won many awards since it started. Here are some of their achievements:
- In 2019, an independent group called FRANdata gave them a "High Performers" rating. This means they are a very strong and well-run business.
- Also in 2019, Jamaica Blue won an award for the "Best Brand Transformation" from QSR. This means they did a great job updating their brand.
- In 2017, they won a GOLD award at the Golden Bean Roaster's Competition. They were named the "Overall Large Franchise Champion" for their coffee.
- QSR also gave Jamaica Blue an award in 2017 for "Best Franchise Partner Engagement." This shows they work well with their cafe owners.
- In 2016, Jamaica Blue won QSR's award for "Best Innovation – Food & Beverage." They came up with new and exciting food and drink ideas.
- QSR also recognized Jamaica Blue in 2016 for having the "Best Franchise Network Support." This means they help their cafe owners a lot.
Helping the Community
Jamaica Blue also cares about helping people in their communities.
In September 2020, the City of Wanneroo in Australia started "memory cafes." They worked with Alzheimer's WA, Jamaica Blue, and Ocean Keys Shopping Centre. These cafes help people living with dementia stay active. Maria Davison, who leads Alzheimer's WA, said these cafes help people feel included. They can stay part of the community instead of staying at home.
In 2020, Jamaica Blue and its sister company, Muffin Break, worked together. They raised over $90,000 to help people affected by the terrible bushfires in Australia. They donated this money to the Australian Red Cross Bush Fire Appeal.
