James "Boogaloo" Bolden was born in Houston, Texas. His parents were James and Rachel Bolden. From a young age, he loved music very much. He learned to play the classical trumpet in high school. He was also a member of his school's choir. Later, James also learned how to play the guitar.

Playing with Famous Musicians

James Bolden played with many famous music groups. These included Stevie Wonder and Issac Hayes. He also performed with the Temptations and the Supremes. Other groups were The Spinners and James Brown. Playing with these artists helped him gain experience. He became well-known in the music world.

Joining B.B. King's Band

James was asked to join Duke Ellington's band. Later, he joined B.B. King's Blues Band. This band was famous around the world. James Bolden eventually became the leader of B.B. King's band.
