James “Boogaloo” Bolden (born February 9, 1950) is an American musician and band leader. He is best known for leading B.B. King's famous Blues Band for many years.

About James "Boogaloo" Bolden
James “Boogaloo” Bolden was born on February 9, 1950, in Houston, Texas. From a young age, he loved music. In high school, he learned to play the trumpet. He was also part of the school choir. Later, he taught himself to play the guitar.
His Musical Journey
James Bolden played with many famous musicians. These included Stevie Wonder, Issac Hayes, the Temptations, the Supremes, The Spinners, and James Brown. Playing with these stars helped him learn a lot and become well-known.
He was even asked to join Duke Ellington's band. Later, he joined B.B. King's Blues Band. He played with B.B. King for over 30 years. Eventually, he became the leader of this world-famous band.
Why "Boogaloo"?
It was B.B. King himself who gave James Bolden his special nickname, “Boogaloo.” B.B. King called him this because James Bolden's feet were always moving when he played music!
His Own Band
Today, James "Boogaloo" Bolden also has his own R&B band. It is called the James Boogaloo Bolden Blues Band. He is also a special artist for Schilke. This means he performs using their "Handcraft" Trumpet.
