James Bradley Jr. (born November 7, 1955 – died April 12, 2023) was an American basketball player. He was known for his skills as a forward. James played college basketball for two teams: the Connors State Cowboys and the Memphis Tigers. In 1979, he was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1979 NBA draft.

Playing Basketball
High School Success
James Bradley Jr. grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He played basketball at Melrose High School. During his senior year, his team had an amazing season. They won the Tennessee state basketball championship. They also went undefeated, meaning they didn't lose a single game! To honor his great achievements, Melrose High School retired his jersey. This special event happened on February 13, 2023.
College Basketball Journey
After high school, Bradley played one season of college basketball. He played for the Connors State Cowboys. In 1976, he was recognized as an Honorable Mention by the NJCAA.
Then, he moved closer to home. He transferred to play for the Memphis Tigers. He became a very important player for the Tigers. For two years, he was named to the first-team All-Metro. This means he was one of the best players in his conference. He also led the Tigers in rebounding during his last two seasons.
Drafted by the NBA
In 1979, James Bradley was chosen in the 1979 NBA draft. The Atlanta Hawks picked him as the 35th player overall. Even though he was drafted, he never played in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
His Passing
James Bradley Jr. passed away in Memphis, Tennessee. He died on April 12, 2023, at the age of 67.
