James Henry Hundon Jr (born April 9, 1971) is an American former professional football player. He was a wide receiver, which means his job was to catch passes from the quarterback. James Hundon played for several teams during his career. This included four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals in the National Football League (NFL).
James Hundon's Football Journey
James Hundon was born in San Francisco, California. He went to Jefferson High School in Daly City. After high school, he started his college football career at City College of San Francisco. Later, he transferred to Portland State University to continue playing.
Playing in the NFL
James Hundon joined the Cincinnati Bengals in the National Football League (NFL) in 1996. He played for the Bengals for four seasons, from 1996 to 1999. The NFL is the biggest professional football league in the United States.
Other Football Leagues
After his time in the NFL, James Hundon played in other professional football leagues. He was a member of the San Francisco Demons in the XFL. The XFL was another professional football league that ran for a short time. He even appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine after the first week of the XFL season.
Hundon also played for the San Jose SaberCats in the Arena Football League (AFL). The AFL was a league that played football indoors on a smaller field. He was a very good player in the AFL. In 2002, he was named to the Second-team All-Arena team, which means he was one of the best players in the league that year. He played for the SaberCats from 2001 to 2003 and again in 2004.
He also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL). In 2003, he played for both the Calgary Stampeders and the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL. The CFL has slightly different rules than American football.
