James Michael Spady was born on January 5, 1966. He is an American college football coach and a former player. He is currently an associate head coach and also coaches the tight ends for Florida A&M University.
Before his current role, Spady was the head coach at Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU). He held this important position from December 2013 until November 2017. James Spady is also a member of the Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.

James Spady's Coaching Journey
James Spady has had a long and interesting career in college football. He started as a player before becoming a coach. His journey shows how much he loves the sport.
Early Coaching Roles
Spady began his coaching career at UTEP. He worked there from 1993 to 2003 in different roles. He coached tight ends and defensive linemen. After UTEP, he coached offensive linemen at South Carolina State and North Carolina Central.
From 2007 to 2009, he was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Grambling State. He then coached tight ends for Nevada from 2010 to 2013.
Leading the Alabama A&M Bulldogs
James Spady became the head coach for the Alabama A&M Bulldogs in December 2013. He led the team for four seasons. During his time as head coach, the team played in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.
His overall record as head coach at Alabama A&M was 15 wins and 30 losses. He helped the team improve their standing in the conference. For example, in 2016, they finished second in their division.
Current Role at Florida A&M
Since 2018, James Spady has been coaching at Florida A&M. He started as an associate head coach, special teams coach, and tight ends coach. Since 2022, he has continued as the associate head coach and tight ends coach. He helps guide the team and develop players in these key positions.
