Balancing Club and Country
For a while, James had to train full-time with the England and Great Britain national teams. This meant he played fewer games for his club. After the 2012 Olympics, he was not included in the national squad. This gave him more chances to play for his club team.
In the 2012/13 season, he became the second-highest goal scorer in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division. He scored 18 goals that season. The next season (2013/14), injuries and work meant he played fewer games. Still, he managed to score 9 goals for Surbiton.
Return to Old Georgians
In 2014, James Tindall went back to play for Old Georgians. The club wanted to move up to the Men's England Hockey League. They finished second in his first season back. The next year, they were promoted! They ended up in a good fifth place in their new league. During this time, he reached a total of 100 goals for Old Georgians in his second period with the club.
In 2005, James Tindall was named the Hockey Writers Club Player of the Year. This award recognized his great talent and performance.
