James "Mac" Warren is a journalist and a steel worker. He is known for running for President of the United States as a candidate for the Socialist Workers Party. He ran for president in 1988 and again in 1992.
Running for President
In 1988, James Warren ran for President of the United States. His running mate, who would have been Vice President, was Kathleen Mickells. Together, they received 23,533 votes.
The 1992 Election
Warren ran for president again in 1992. This time, he had two different running mates depending on the state: Estelle DeBates and Willie Mae Reid.
Running for Mayor
Besides running for president, James Warren also ran for mayor of Chicago in 1991. He ran against the person who was already mayor, Richard M. Daley. Warren received less than 1% of the votes in that election.
