Becoming a Meteorologist
Jane Bunn studied hard to become a meteorologist. In 2005, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Monash University. She focused on Atmospheric Science and Mathematics. Atmospheric science is the study of Earth's atmosphere and its weather.
During her studies, Jane even spent time learning at Pennsylvania State University in the United States. In 2006, she was chosen to complete a special diploma in Meteorology. This training was provided by the Bureau of Meteorology, which is Australia's national weather service.
After her training, Jane worked as a weather forecaster. She helped predict the weather in different cities. These included Sydney, Canberra, and even at the RAAF's Williamtown air force base.
Working in Television
In June 2009, Jane became a weather presenter for WIN News Victoria. Many people watched her, especially farmers. They relied on her weather reports to help them with their crops and animals.
After five years at WIN News, Jane decided to try something new. In June 2014, she left her role there. For a short time, she filled in as a weather presenter. She worked on shows like ABC News Breakfast and ABC News Victoria.
Then, in November 2014, the Seven Network announced exciting news. Jane Bunn would be joining the Seven News Melbourne team! She started her new job in December of that year.
Jane has also helped cover big weather events. She reported on the Queensland floods and Victoria's Black Saturday bush fires. She shared her weather knowledge on shows like Today and radio station 3AW.

Jane Bunn grew up in the Melbourne area, specifically in the bayside suburbs. She went to Firbank Grammar School for her high school years.
In 2006, Jane married Michael, who works with computers. They live together in Melbourne. Jane is also a big fan of Australian Rules Football. She supports the St Kilda Football Club in the Australian Football League.
